05I just have an idea
You describe it. We work out what it should be.
The most common message I get starts with “this might be a stupid question”. It usually is not. We talk it through, I tell you what it would take, and you decide — no charge for that conversation.
You don’t need to know how any of it works.
Most people who contact me can describe what they want but not how to build it. That’s the normal starting point, not a problem.
We talk. You describe it however it comes out — I ask the questions. By the end you know whether it is worth building and roughly what it would take.
I write the plan in plain English: what it does, what it deliberately does not do in the first version, how long, what it costs. You can take that plan anywhere.
You get screens to look at and click before a line of it is real. Changing your mind here is free — that is the entire point of this step.
You are not. You see it working in pieces as it goes, and you can say “not like that” while it is still cheap to change.
I break it on purpose before your customers do — the edge cases, the wrong inputs, the phone that is three years old.
It goes live and I stay reachable. Things break and businesses change; you should not have to find someone new when they do.

Not a salesperson who passes you on. The person who scopes it writes it, and answers when something breaks.
I’ll tell you not to build it
If a spreadsheet or an off-the-shelf tool solves it for a fraction of the money, that is what I will say. I would rather lose the job than sell you the wrong thing.
Small enough to change course
No change-request process. If you look at it in week three and it is not right, we fix it then — not in version two.
It has to actually run
Anyone can demo. My work is judged on whether it still works in six months without me being called.

I started UNIVRSLL because I kept finding problems worth solving and wanted to build the fix properly rather than hand it off. Today that’s a review platform with paying customers, a document-intelligence tool, an encrypted desktop chat app, and a shelf of free Windows utilities people actually use.
What I like most is the beginning — someone describes a problem in plain language and we work out together what it should become. And the end, where it runs without anyone having to ask me about it.
You won’t be handed to an account manager, because there isn’t one. The person who scopes your project writes it, and fixes it when something breaks.
